Nine Inch Nails are heading back to the studio to record a new album, just months after sparking fears of a split by confirming their September show was its last.
The rockers announced they would be taking a break from live shows following their concert in Los Angeles, but they've now confirmed they will still be working hard in 2010 with plans for a new record. Frontman Trent Reznor has also hinted fans will get an extra treat that "isn't Nine Inch Nails," but refused to elaborate on details of the side project. In a post on the band's official website, the singer writes, "Happy holidays everyone and thank you for an exceptional year! Sorry I haven't been around much lately, I've been working on not working for a couple of months, which for me is hard work. "2010 has a number of things planned including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails. I am in a state of rediscovery and reinvention that feels unfamiliar, unsure and exactly what I need." Sauce

| Entertainment Weekly's 10 to Watch in 2010 |
[05 Jan 2010|08:19pm] |
Alia Shawkat, Jay Baruchel, and Mia Wasikowska aren't household names. But they're just a few of the people you should keep your eye on in 2010.
JAY BARUCHEL Where you've seen him: In a word? Everywhere. Since his first big break as the lead in Judd Apatow's short-lived Fox comedy Undeclared, the 27-year-old has nailed stand-out supporting roles in a string of hit movies, including Million Dollar Baby (2004), Knocked Up (2007), Tropic Thunder (2008), and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009).
Big in 2010 because: He'll voice the lead character in Dreamworks' 3-D animated adventure How to Train Your Dragon (out in March), and then play an average Joe dating a hottie in She's Out of My League (also March) before co-starring with Nicolas Cage in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced live-action adaptation of The Sorcerer's Apprentice (July).

| Jeremy Piven's Scar |
[05 Jan 2010|08:15pm] |

The "Entourage" star tells us he got banged up bad doing theater work back in the day -- so bad it left big scars on the back of his head.
Piven -- who was photographed in Hawaii -- tells us on December 17, he went under the knife for a "scar minimizing procedure." We never heard of it either, but supposedly it reduces the scarring. But Piven says he had no idea post-op scarring would be so prominent.
So what's Jeremy gonna do? He says he was thinking of shaving his head but can't because of continuity problems with "Entourage."
Our advice -- chicks dig scars.

| Sam Mendes to direct next Bond movie (maybe) |
[05 Jan 2010|07:53pm] |
|

It's Mendes. Sam Mendes.
The British helmer is in negotiations to direct the 23rd installment of the venerable James Bond franchise.
Production is being fast-tracked and could begin as early as June with an eye toward a 2011 release. Plans for the film are moving forward despite a possible sale of MGM. Sony co-produced and distributed the most recent installment of the 007 series with MGM.
Bond regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing, along with "Frost/Nixon" scribe Peter Morgan. Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are producing. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007.
The film will be Mendes' first action-heavy project, though his 2005 effort "Jarhead" was set amid U.S. war in Kuwait. Mendes' most recent directorial effort, the road-trip dramedy "Away We Go," grossed $10 million domestically last summer.
Marc Forster directed the previous Bond film, 2008's "Quantum of Solace," which grossed $586 million worldwide.
Earlier today I posted that there's a delay because of MGM problems...so IDK how that will work. But I LOVE him, so I think this is

"He Wasn't There" - Lily Allen |
] |

Q:You're playing a black ops soldier in the adaptation of the graphic novel The Losers, out in April. Do you enjoy roles that require you to run around and shoot a gun?
Zoe Saldana: Like you wouldn't believe. It turns me on in a way that I shouldn't be saying. It's not the guns that turn me on, though—it's seeing women in a commanding position. It's boring to always play the victim. [In sobbing victim's voice] "Rape me! I'll have your child!" Eff that! Why don't you have my baby and wait at home while I go kill some motherfuckers? [Laughs.] It's just very empowering. I just want to play roles that, in some way or another, resemble the kind of person that I am, the kind of things that I'm attracted to.
Q:You've said you like to gossip with your mom and sisters. Do you gossip about Hollywood?
Zoe: No, not Hollywood, because my mom is such a mom that whenever she hears a devastating story about a celebrity that's going downhill, she cries. She always says, "That's someone's child." She keeps me grounded. She's so non-judgmental; as long as you have a job, she don't give a shit what, who, or how you are.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse script leaks!
Earlier today an alleged copy of the script for Eclipse leaked online. It's made it's way in several Twilight communities on Livejournal and elsewhere, so those who want to find it - it's not hard. It's hilariously bad (not a surprise) but seems pretty spot on, and similar to the other movie scripts.
The best part and what makes this news-worthy? Every page is watermarked with Jackson Rathbone's name. He is one of the main cast members and plays Jasper Hale in the movies... So, I bet Summit isn't too happy about this.

( another page. )
I smell a lawsuit, or a few? Keep in mind this movie is to be released next summer.
Somewhere Stephenie Meyer is about to burst into flames.

| Sean Penn Returns to 'The Three Stooges' Movie |
[05 Jan 2010|07:57pm] |
|

The retirement is over! Remember when Sean Penn left Hollywood and the remake of The Three Stooges to focus on his family? Only a few months later, the divorce was final, and now that it's the New Year, Sean Penn is looking to get back to work. The Boston Herald reports that he's back on to play Larry in the Farrelly Brothers remake, which is still going forward. "We got him back. He always said he wanted to do it after, you know, taking care of his family," says Bobby Farrelly
As the Herald writes, there were rumors that Penn would be replaced by Paul Giamatti, but that was a no-go and without stars, the film couldn't kick into gear for its August start date. Now the brothers are shooting Hail Pass with Owen Wilson next month, and then, presumably, will focus on The Stooges. ...if they get the rest of the cast in place.
Larry is good and set, and with Penn back on, Benicio Del Toro is still keen to play Moe. That leaves the one final -- and many would argue -- most important Stooge left ... Curly. Bobby Farrelly says Jim Carrey isn't interested, so who could it possibly be?
He retired? I missed that. He should totally call up Johnny, though. They're friends and he'd so do it. source

| Chuck's Yvonne Strahovski talks about season three, plus shopping pics with her boyfriend |
[05 Jan 2010|07:32pm] |
Will the fact that Chuck Bartowski knows kung fu impair his ability to woo? Surprisingly, the answer is yes, as revealed when NBC’s ‘Chuck’ returns for a third season starting Sunday, January 10 (before settling into its usual Mondays-at-8 slot). Aussie beauty Yvonne Strahovski gave us a look at the romantic speed bumps to come, talked about that swimsuit scene, and shared some of her guilty pleasures.
It would seem that Chuck’s new skills would make him an even better fit with Sarah, yet from everything I’m hearing they instead hit a rough patch. Is that right? Yes, they do actually hit a bit of a rough patch. With this new Intersect in his brain, [Sarah and Casey] have to train him to use it properly, so he’s all the more in danger and we still have to protect him. Plus other obstacles are in the works because we have [Kristin Kreuk ('Smallville') and Brandon Routh ('Superman Returns')] coming on to play new love interests for Chuck and Sarah.
What can you reveal about Brandon Routh’s character, who emerges as the new leader of “Operation Bartowski”? How would you compare Sarah’s attraction to Shaw versus, say, Bryce? One of the things that’s similar is they’re on the same page at the professional level, as far as being spies, whereas Chuck is not as capable of protecting himself. Also, sometimes Sarah feels more comfortable talking to Shaw. Things come about as Season 3 goes along where you actually see some other similarities… but I’m not going to reveal too much.
Will the introduction of Shaw and Hannah (played by Kreuk) present a respite from Chuck and Sarah’s “Will They/Won’t They?” angst, or only make it worse? I think it will make it even more torturous! [Laughs] There’s always that “Will They/Won’t They?” thing, and when you add third parties into it… it’s a pain to watch somebody hook up with somebody else. So yes, we continue that. There’s always the bubbling romance underneath. ( Stunts, bikinis and America's Next Top Model... )
Chuck starlet Yvonne Strahovski and her boyfriend, actor Tim Loden are affectionate as they go Christmas shopping together in Hollywood. The 27-year-old Aussie actress picked up a few things on her trip, including swag from Anthropologie!
Next up for Yvonne Strahovski is Chuckfest. She, along with other members from the cast of Chuck will meeting fans this weekend!

| Merman Jason Statham Co-Star Sylvester Stallone Breaks Neck |
[05 Jan 2010|05:23pm] |

Movie action hero Sylvester Stallone broke his neck while filming a fight scene during his new film The Expendables.
The star revealed to FHM magazine he suffered a hairline fracture and needed to have a metal plate inserted in his neck after a "vicious" fight between him and wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin in the movie, which also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke and British actor Jason Statham.
"Man, it was seven guys, kicking each other's ass, one guy tougher than the next. No joke, our stunt guys were begging for mercy," Stallone said.
"Actually, my fight with Stone Cold Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. I'm not joking. I haven't told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards.
"I now have a metal plate in my neck."
The Expendables follows a secret team of special military operatives who work together to overthrow a dictator in South America. It is due for release in the middle of 2010.

Gemma Arterton: The Bond girl done good
Since her debut with 007, Gemma Arterton has resisted the starlet trap and opted for surprisingly gritty roles
Gemma Arterton is, in her own words, a freak. “I was born,” says the 23-year-old former Bond girl (Quantum of Solace) and St Trinian’s starlet, casually thrusting forward her hands, “With two extra fingers.” She rubs softly the raised pinkish knuckle scars on the side of both hands and continues, “There were no bones in them, just the fingers and the fingernails.” Arterton, dressed down in denims and black winter woollies, and munching on a rocket and goat’s cheese salad in an East London rehearsal studio, then cocks her head to one side, parts the hair of her trademark bob, and adds, “And I’ve got a crumpled ear, look!” She taps the mildly swollen flesh at the top of her right ear, and sighs, “I was a freakish baby. A bit of an oddball. And I still feel like that now.”

The NY Post wrote a scathing piece today slamming burlesque singer Beyonce for performing a private 1-hour concert for the son of Muslim Libyan terrorist, Moammar Khadafy.
This is more evidence that celebrities will do anything for money and fame. Beyonce performed for an hour on New Year’s Eve at a party thrown by terror-backing Libyan dictator Moammar Khadafy’s son, Hannibal, who has a long record of violence against women. Some vacationers on the island were aghast. DJ Sam Young tweeted: “Jigga [Jay-Z], Beyonce & Usher were @ Nikki Beach performing for Khadafy family, WTF?” Read More… Apparently, Khadafy’s son Hannibal beat his wife to a pulp inside their hotel room over the Christmas holidays. The wife suffered a broken nose, among other injuries, and had to be hospitalized. The criticism is so damaging that Beyonce’s camp at first denied that Beyonce received a $2 million fee to perform. Then they denied that Beyonce even performed. But music magnate Russell Simmons already tweeted the pics from the concert and confirmed that she was there performing. It remains to be seen how this one will play out. Thanks to loyal reader Gina for the tip!
